Famed American artist Norman Rockwell, called back from the dead by vice-president Richard Cheney, today unveiled his long-awaited "Legacy Portrait" of U.S. president George W. Bush. Rockwell, sometimes criticized during his long career for hiding the truth in overly sentimental and sanitized portraits of American life, stated that he had striven for "unflinching realism" in the Bush portrait.
"I believe I have captured his soul," said Rockwell.
Public reaction was mixed, ranging from "horror" to "revulsion", mirroring public reaction to Bush in real life.
Asked if he would also be painting the 'Legacy Portrait' of the Vice-president before returning to the Underworld, Rockwell responded, "No. I used up my black on this one."

oh, and the title for his memoirs should be 'making the world safe for oligarchy'
Looks like Rockwell finally captured the very essence of the weaver of war.
Big eyes! Oooooh! I want a tiny replica of that for my locket.
Only problem is, it attracts vampires who suck the blood out of your body until you are a dripping oozing pile of quivering gel.

Nice to see that he took it easy on the legacy. Might have taken up too much paint to get the real depth needed.

There is that 29% of Americans who will approve, no matter how hideous it is. (What's wrong with those people?????)
Rockwell knows better than to spend too much time looking at the dark one before Cheney steals your soul and you are forever trapped in Hell, listening to Ronald Reagan retell the story of how he invented the instant replay, over and over for etenity.
The Dark Lord has no soul and because of that it would be impossible to paint him.

We can only hope that if he's captured his soul, he doesn't believe in catch & release. Personally, I didn't think he HAD a soul.

OMG....this is priceless...I LOVE this painting....Norm would be sooooooo proud....."captured his soul"...that is a scarey sentence.....enough to hide all children...
